New dataset: ECMWF forecast model IFS04

February 4, 2022

meteoblue

New dataset available through the meteoblue Package API, Dataset API and Maps API: IFS04

The IFS04 (Integrated Forecasting System, v4) provides high accuracy nowcast and forecast data for all basic weather variables. It is computed on one of the largest supercomputers in Europe, by the ECMWF (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts). More information about this dataset can be found here.

meteoblue uses the new IFS04 forecast dataset as input to its best-fit weather forecast, which is a smart multimodel mix based on more than 30 different models, including weather forecast models from various national weather services. Furthermore, the IFS04 forecast data also is available through the multimodel packages. Last but not least, IFS04 forecasts can be visually displayed with the Maps API.

The dataset is stored into the meteoblue weather data archive starting from the beginning of February 2022, and also can be accessed through the Dataset API.
