Weather Warnings
The meteoblue Weather Warnings API is in Beta phase. Major breaking changes to the API are not expected.
Warnings API
Please note, that our Warnings API has a different endpoint URL and can not combined with forecast or history packages.
The Warnings API delivers CAP (Common Alerting Protocol) weather warnings issued by national authorities such as national weather services. The API provides the warning for the selected coordinate along with the whole warning area, the official warning text and classification information. Warnings are globally available, given that the national authorities issue them in the standardised CAP format.
meteoblue is not responsible for the third-party data and content of the severe weather warnings it republishes.

The current weather warnings also can be visualised in our Weather Maps.
API URLs
Example weather warnings will not always be available or active in the URLs below. Please note, that the API will return {"results_count":0,"results":[]} if there is no current weather alert for the specified location.
Location specific weather warnings
Example URL: https://my.meteoblue.com/warnings/list?apikey=DEMOKEY&lat=47.558&lon=7.573
This API call returns coordinate specific weather warnings, updated every 15 minutes. It checks for weather warnings in the surroundings (0.075 degrees).

Complete information for a specific weather warning

This API call delivers the complete information for a specific weather warning, by replacing "WARNING_ID" with the weather warning ID in the URL.

List of available authorities

This API call returns a list of all currently available authorities that are included in our Warnings API database. It also delivers all available information about the authorities and the most recently issued warnings.
